Assembly and first profession of 2003/4 novices. The Provincial Assembly, which prepares the Province for its Chapter, opened with the Mass of Religious Profession for the two Melbourne-based novices: Brs Peter (Joshua) Martin, O.P. and Paul Rowse, O.P. They received the habit from the 85th successor of St Dominic, Fr Carlos Azpiroz Costa, O.P. on 14 June 2003 and made their Novitiate under Fr Denis Hallinan, O.P. ![]() Br Peter (Joshua) Martin, O.P. is originally from Launceston, Tasmania and holds a Science degree with honours in Optical Astronomy from the University of Tasmania. He was a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Hobart until 2002. Br Paul Rowse, O.P. holds a degree in Theology and has taught English to international students preparing for university. He was a sacristan at St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney from 1999-2001. The Province has four remaining novices: two in North Adelaide and two in the Vicariate of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, on the island of Loga, S.I. The completion of their Novitiates is scheduled for early 2005. |
