The Prior Provincial, having consulted the Priory Chapter and Council and conducted examinations, admitted to Solemn profession of vows Br Mannes Tellis, O.P. on Sunday 20 August 2006 at the 11am Mass at St Dominic's Church, East Camberwell. Solemn profession concludes the period of simple profession and gives the brother active voice, that is, the ability to vote. Br Mannes will continue is preparing for priestly ordination. He made Solemn vows using this formula, which is unique to the Order: I, Brother N.N., make profession, and I promise obedience to God, to blessed Mary, to blessed Dominic, and to you, brother N.N., in place of brother Carlos Azpiroz Costa, Master of the Order of Friars Preachers and his successors, according to the rule of blessed Augustine and the Constitutions of the Friars Preachers that I will be obedient to you and to your successors, until death.
