- 17 Jan 2006 Philippines and Hong Kong Exposure for three Australian Dominicans.

Three students for the Province accompanied by their Master, Fr Martin Wallace, O.P. departed today for an exposure to work of the Dominican brethren in the Philippines and Hong Kong.  They are Brs Vincent Magat, O.P., Paul Rowse, O.P. and Dominic Joseph, O.P.

The Province of the Philippines was founded in 1980 by the missionary Province of the Holy Rosary whose missions had been established throughout much of Asia since the sixteenth century.  Involved in pastoral and intellectual apostolates as well as charitable works, the brethren of the Philippines Province are well-equipped to introduce our students to a range of possibilities for ministry in Australia and New Zealand.

Our student brothers will spend some time with the Filippino Dominican students in Quezon City, as well as visiting the Pre-Novitiate (Calamba), Novitiate (Manaoag) and the prestigious University of Santo Tomas (Manila).  Also included in the exposure are a few days with the Holy Rosary friars in San Juan (Manila) and Hong Kong.  Our brothers will also stay with a host family in Dagat Dagatan, a mission parish in Navotas.

	O Almighty and merciful God,

Who have commissioned your angels to guide and protect us,
Command them to be our assiduous companions from our setting out until our return;
To clothe us with their invisible protection;
To keep from us all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of fall and bruises, and
Finally, having preserved us from all evil, and especially from sin,
To guide us to our heavenly home.

Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
