On Friday, 14th November, 2003, Archbishop Philip Wilson solemnly dedicated the new Chapel of St Albert the Great at Blackfriars Priory School, Adelaide. The rite of Dedication is one of the Church's most solemn ceremonies: it is used when a building is permanently dedicated to divine worship. In fact, this chapel has been used for Christian worship - as a Methodist and then Uniting church - since 1882, and an earlier church stood on the site in the 1860s. This building was purchased from the Uniting Church and extensively renovated by the school: members of the local Uniting Church congregation were present at, and took part in, the dedication. The pictures show: (1)Prior Kevin Saunders opens the newly constructed door for the Archbishop and congregation to enter; Archbishop Wilson anoints the altar (2) and walls (3) with sacred Chrism; (4) Fr Martin incenses the archbishop, and (5) a server incenses the congregation, including old scholars and staff; two pictures (6 & 7) during the Eucharistic Prayer, including Fr Martin Wallace (M.C. and former Headmaster), Fr John Neill (former Headmaster), Fr Peter Galvin, Archbishop Wilson, Prior Kevin Saunders, Fr Tom Cassidy (Prior Provincial) and Fr Joseph Truong (Chaplain), and (8) Archbishop Wilson with current Principal, Dr Paul Hine.
