Text Box: HERE I AM, LORD [AOV 90]
I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin,
My hand will save.
I, who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?
Chorus
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will send the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them.
My hand will save.
Finest bread I will provide,
'Til their hearts be satisfied.
I will give my life to them.
Whom shall I send?
Text Box: Placing of symbols
After the Sign of the Cross and Greeting, members of the Dominican community will place a white pall, recalling the white garment of baptism, on Fr Dominic’s coffin, together with a stole woven from shells— a symbol of his priesthood— his breviary— encrusted with salt from long exposure to the Pacific Ocean—and a picture of his beloved mission ship, the Salve Regina.
Words of Remembrance.
Fr Dom’s nephew, Greg Meese, will then share some recollections of his uncle’s life.

Bishop:   Let us pray.

Lord, hear the prayers we offer for Dominic,
              your servant and priest.
He faithfully fulfilled his ministry to your name.
May he rejoice forever in the fellowship of your saints.
We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
All :      Amen.
